Orientation is designed to provide new students with the information they will need to have a successful first year at JSCC.

New Student Orientation

First-time college students at JSCC should attend a New Student Orientation Session. This orientation is designed to provide new students with the information they will need to have a successful first year at JSCC. These sessions will offer students information essential to their academic success, allow new students to meet faculty and staff, and give students the opportunity to register for class. Attendees should have a completed application as well as placement test scores on file before registering to attend New Student Orientation .

Step 1:
Prepare for the New Student Orientation

Have on file:

  • A completed JSCC application
    • To complete the application online go to - Online Application
    • To complete the application in person - applications can be found in the Student Services Office
  • A copy of your placement test scores on file at JSCC
  • SAT or ACT scores (if available)
  • Official college transcripts on file in the Admissions Office if needed

Step 2:
Attend the Event

Location: Hoffler Building, Monk Auditorium

  • Introduction of Staff and Faculty
  • Introduction to the Quality Enhancement Plan
  • Break - snacks - opportunity to ask questions
  • Campus tour
  • Meet with advisor (if available)
  • Register for classes

For all new students wishing to begin classes in Spring 2016, we now have opened registration online for orientation . Identical sessions will take place on Tuesday, January 5th at  8:45am and 5:15pm. If you have any questions related to Orientation, please contact:
