To claim veterans’ preference upon initial application, all eligible persons must complete and sign the Application for Employment and submit it to JSCC Human Resources Department. A DD-214 will be required to verify eligibility for veteran’s preference.

Where do I get a copy of my DD-214?

These can be obtained from the Register of Deeds office in the county in which you recorded (if you recorded). It is recommended that you contact the Register of Deeds office to confirm the process and information needed to request your DD-214.

Otherwise, it can be obtained from the Veteran’s Service Officer.
