Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a federally funded program that provides eligible students with academic support services and activities that will enhance their academic skills, thereby ensuring that these students will complete high school and enroll in and complete programs of post-secondary education.
The Upward Bound Program at James Sprunt Community College has a director, coordinator, two pre-college advisers, part-time instructors and tutors, program assistant and a technology assistant who provide an array of academic, educational and career support.
Services
Eligible Students
Students who are enrolled in one of the four area high schools. At the time of initial selection, the student must be in either the 9th or 10th grade. Each participant must have a need for academic support in order to pursue successfully a program of education beyond secondary school. All participants must be either low-income or potential first generation college students.
