Educational Talent Search
Educational Talent Search Brochure
The Educational Talent Search program serves students in grades six through twelve who are from either first generation or low income families. The primary purpose of the Educational Talent Search program is to prepare students for successful entry into any level of post secondary education. Our goal is to improve academic performance, facilitate smooth transitions from one level of education to the next and increase student motivation and college awareness.
A Note from the Director
The Educational Talent Search Program at James Sprunt Community College is proud of the accomplishments that have been made over the past ten years. With each new funding cycle we have new and innovative ideas. With the continued help and support from the Duplin County School system, we will continue to help participants in completing secondary education, enrolling in post secondary education, and reaching our other goals and objectives as outlined.
We always plan exciting trips and college tours for our participants. All participants are encouraged to participate in all activities that are offered. Some services and activities are geared directly to our high school participants. However, there will be programs and activities for all ETS participants throughout the year. I ask all participants to stay in touch with their Outreach Advisors. Mrs. Felita Carr and Mrs. Roszena Devione-Bivens will be located at any of the seven schools (Beulaville, E.E. Smith, Charity, Warsaw, James Kenan, East Duplin, or Wallace-Rose Hill). At other times they can be located at James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville. We ask that any parent or student who may need additional information to contact me or any staff member.
