Associate Degree Nursing
Associate in Applied Science Degree


Thank you for your interest in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program at James Sprunt Community College. Please read the Health Applicant Letter for the schedule of information sessions about the ADN program. 

The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings.

Courses will include content related to the nurse's role as provider of nursing care, as manager of care, as a 
member of the discipline of nursing, and as a member of the interdisciplinary team. 
 
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) which is required for practice as a Registered Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, physician's offices, industry and community agencies.

In order to be considered for admission into the Associate Degree Nursing Program, the application must be on file, and all admission criteria met by February 1st of each year for consideration for the following fall semester. To apply for the Associate Degree Nursing Program download, review and complete the Associate Degree Nursing Program Application Packet and return the packet to the Health Education Department at James Sprunt Community College.
